Bonnie Villarreal has served at Utah State University as a lecturer, faculty advisor to Beta Alpha Psi, the honors organization for accounting students and professionals, and Director of Graduate Programs in the School of Accountancy. Her expertise is in entity taxation, tax research and procedures and she also enjoys teaching fundamentals of accounting to introduce business students to the language of business. Prior to joining the faculty at Utah State University, Bonnie worked in public accounting in assurance and business advisory services in Chicago and San Francisco with KMG, and income tax services in Salt Lake City.

Bonnie serves as Faculty Coordinator for the international “Project-Run-With-It” competition, co-sponsored by Beta Alpha Psi and Moss Adams, LLP annually. This competition matches top accounting students with Nonprofit organizations to find real-life solutions for business problems they are experiencing. She also coaches the tax team from USU in Deloitte’s FanTAXtic competition and serves as the Coordinator for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance clinic at USU which prepares over 500 tax returns annually for students and members of the community.
